Box 24283San Jose, CA   95154CommishCalc calculates commissions on the purchase or sale of stocks or options made through the Charles Schwab brokerage firm.The commissions calculated are based upon a chart published by Charles Schwab Co. on May 21, 1991 and was still current as of December 20, 1993.Much effort has been made to make the calculations accurate but neither the author of this application nor Charles Schwab Co. will be held responsible for miscalculations of commissions.If you would like a custom Newton application written please write to the same address or send E-mail to:71540.1642@compuserve.com.Charles Schwab and TeleBroker are probably registered trademarks of Charles Schwab Co. and I'm sure they would want to reserve their rights.I have no connection with Charles Schwab Co. except that I am a happy client.---How to Use CommishCalc:After starting the application just choose whether you would like to calculate the commissions for a stock or option trade.  Then write in the number of shares or contracts and the whole part of the price on the given lines.  Choose the fractional part of the price by using the menu diamond next to the price line.  It defaults to say "and 0/8" next to the diamond.The results will show you the "regular" Schwab commission and the TeleBroker Schwab commission which is 10% less than the regular commission.  For information on using TeleBroker from Schwab please contact the Charles Schwab Co.  I really like the service and use it often.Below the line labeled "with TeleBroker" is a transaction summary area.  This tells you how much you will have to pay or how much you will receive depending on whether the trade was a buy or sell.  Choose the appropriate button to get the type of transaction desired.  This assumes you used TeleBroker to make the trade.These results will be very close to the exact transaction price but are not guaranteed to be exact.  I have found them to be within a few cents on every trade I have made.For example:  Lets say I have 100 shares of XYZ to sell and the current price is 18 1/2.  I choose "Stocks", write "100" on the Shares line, write "18" on the Price line and choose "1/2" on the fraction menu next to the Price line.  The Schwab commission is $55.00 with a TeleBroker commission of $49.50.  I select the Sell button to find my Net Proceeds on the sale will be about $1800.50 which is 100 * $18 1/2 less the $49.50 TeleBroker commission.
